Bluebirds Day Nursery is a GOOD nursery according to OFSTED and our parents. We are accommodated within a tastefully-renovated storey building on London Road in Grays. The nursery has an outdoor area at the back of the property and a huge car park at the front for parent’s use. We are registered with OFSTED to care for children from 3 months to 5 years.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of Bluebirds Day Nursery to serve the needs of families and the community around us by providing high quality childcare.
Aim
Our aim is that by the end of their nursery education at Bluebirds, our children will be independent, ardent learners and confident communicators expressing themselves, so they are school ready.
Ethos
Our ethos is Happy Children, Happy Parents, Happy Staff
Our Children are happy …
… because we put them at the centre of our thinking and do all we can do to nurture, support, educate and care for them.
Our Parents are happy …
… because their children are in a safe, healthy, secure, stimulated and enabling environment.
Our Staff are happy …
…. because they work with a friendly team, receive quality training and the support needed to work effectively.
Learning and Development
When your child first joins our nursery, they will have initial two weeks of observation during their play and interaction with others to enable the staff to understand their interest and plan activities based on these interests. This will enable the children to build on, widen and extend their previous knowledge.
This observation will allow the staff to set the next steps for your child based on the EYFS three primes areas and the four specifics areas (for 3 years plus).
Prime areas
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Communication and Language
Specific areas- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Our daily activities are based on the 4 themes of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which are; ‘unique child’, ‘positive relationships’, ‘enabling environment’ and ‘physical development.
By covering these we aim to achieve the following outcomes:
- Being healthy
- Staying Safe
- Enjoying and achieving
- Making positive contributions
- Economic well-being
We hope to promote a learning environment both indoor and outdoor to give our children the ability to go on the next stage confidently when it is time for them to leave for “big school”.
